Blue Edge Systems Engineering, formally established in 2003 and headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, emerged from the Dynamical Systems and Ocean Robotics Lab at the Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR). The company provides services in bathymetric surveying, engineering consultancy, and R&D for autonomous underwater and marine robotic systems. Its team contributed to landmark European AUV programs including MARIUS, SIRENE, Infante, Delfim, and Caravela.
Blue Edge also offers equipment rental and collaborates with Oceanscan (Aberdeen, UK) to supply edge technology products and rental services across Portugal and Spain. Additional project work has included ocean energy platforms such as the Archimedes Wave Swing.
