BionIT Labs s.r.l. - Societa Benefit is an Italian medical technology company based in Soleto, in the province of Lecce, that designs and manufactures myoelectric bionic hands and related accessories. Its main product, Adam's Hand, is a hand prosthesis controlled by electromyographic (EMG) signals from the user's residual muscles. The company describes it as the first fully adaptive bionic hand: a single motor drives the fingers, which conform automatically to the shape and size of the grasped object, so the user does not need to select grip patterns. Listed features include AI-based pattern recognition control, an IP67-rated wrist joint, field-serviceable components, aviation-grade aluminium and stainless-steel construction, and Small and Medium sizes. Adam's Hand Plus adds active thumb rotation.

The product range also includes the MyoLogic app (iOS/Android, for users, including virtual prosthesis training) and MyoLogic Pro (iPadOS, for clinicians to configure the device, connect remotely and update firmware), the ThunderCell replaceable lithium-ion battery (950 mAh, USB-C charging), Wave surface EMG electrodes (50 Hz and 60 Hz models), PULSE localized vibrotactile feedback, PRISM (Pattern Recognition Interface for Smart Myocontrol) and Adam's Skin IP67 silicone gloves in Basic, Advanced and Individual versions.

BionIT Labs was founded in February 2018 by Giovanni Zappatore (CEO), Matteo Aventaggiato (biomedical engineer, COO) and Federico Gaetani (information engineer). The Adam's Hand mechanism originated in Zappatore's graduation thesis. The company obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification in December 2020 and CE marking of Adam's Hand as a Class I medical device in November 2022. It signed its first European distribution agreement, in Germany, in January 2023, received a European Commission Seal of Excellence (EIC Accelerator) in March 2023 and opened its current headquarters in Soleto in February 2023. In the United States the company incorporated in Delaware and set up a commercial headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2024; Adam's Hand is listed in the FDA database and received PDAC approval for Medicare reimbursement in April 2024. A Small size variant was launched in January 2025. The company reports availability in more than 15 countries and says it holds six international patent families. It became a benefit corporation (Societa Benefit) in July 2024. The company states a team of 65 people across engineering, design, finance, sales and marketing.

Funding history includes a PIN (Pugliesi Innovativi) regional grant in 2018, EUR 85,000 from G-Factor in 2019, EUR 200,000 equity crowdfunding on Mamacrowd in 2019, EUR 400,000 from CDP Venture Capital and private investors in 2020, a EUR 3.5 million seed round in October 2021 (CDP Venture Capital, RIF/Equiter), and a EUR 5.5 million round closed in mid-2024 with CDP Venture Capital (Italia Venture II - Fondo Imprese Sud), RIF (Research and Innovation Fund managed by Equiter), Sefea Impact SGR (Si Fund), SIMEST (FUVC) and Fondazione ENEA Tech e Biomedical.

In January 2026 BionIT Labs introduced Adam's Hand for Physical AI, a version of the hand for humanoid and service robots, shown at CES 2026 on two Oversonic Robotics humanoids: RoBee R (industrial, developed with STMicroelectronics) and RoBee M (medical, shown at the Intel booth). The robot version is designed as a plug-in component with a standard interface, supports multiple communication protocols, runs AI processing locally, logs telemetry, is rated for over one million open-close cycles, and has an SDK in development.
