Astribot is the trading name of Astribot (Shenzhen) Artificial Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese robotics company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, founded in late 2022. The company builds humanoid robots around a hardware-software architecture it calls Design for AI (DFAI), which pairs onboard AI inference with dual-arm manipulation hardware.
Its flagship platform, the Astribot S1, is a wheeled, dual-arm humanoid robot with two 7-degree-of-freedom arms rated for a 5 kg payload per arm at full horizontal reach, a maximum end-effector speed above 10 meters per second, peak acceleration near 100 m/s2, and positioning repeatability of plus or minus 0.1 mm. The robot stands 170 cm tall, weighs about 80 kg, has a 194 cm arm span, and runs 4 to 6 hours per charge. In a November 2024 demonstration, an S1 unit made coffee autonomously using the pi-zero foundation model from Physical Intelligence, following natural-language instructions through a combination of imitation learning and real-time manipulation control.
Beyond the S1, Astribot has introduced additional AI research efforts named Lumo and Philia and a reinforcement-learning framework called SmoothRL. The company has raised funding from investors including Dalton Venture, Yunqi Partners, Ant Group, and Jinqiu Capital.
