"Panoramic 3D Vision Sensor for Robotic Intelligence"
Korean CISS spinoff whose ArgosVue fisheye-stereo sensors give robots a 200 x 140 degree depth view, pitched as a cheaper LiDAR alternative.
ArgosVision (Argos Vision Co., Ltd.) makes wide-angle 3D vision sensors for robots. Founded in 2020 as a spinoff of South Korea's government-funded Center for Integrated Smart Sensors (CISS) and led by CEO Ki-Yeong Park, it is based in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, with a branch on Seoul's KIST campus in Seongbuk-gu.
The ArgosVue line pairs vertically arranged fisheye stereo cameras for depth maps and point clouds across a 200 x 140 degree field of view: about double conventional 3D coverage, horizontally and vertically, and cheaper than LiDAR, it says. It claims the view holds a full-height person in frame from 50 cm and shows side approaches, floor, terrain and obstacles.
Four products: the ArgosVue Developer Kit, a self-contained Linux unit on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB with a 200-degree fisheye lens, configurable 200 x 160 degree field of view, 256 GB SSD, streaming/depth/point-cloud software and ROS samples. Developer Kit Lite: Jetson TX2 NX, 180-degree fisheye lenses, 2 MP global-shutter colour CMOS sensor, 100 mm stereo baseline, 402 g. ArgosVue DAR: a waterproof, dustproof module for indoor and outdoor robots, cabled up to 1 m to a separate AI compute unit. ArgosVue AIoT adds on-board AI human recognition to CCTV, sending events, not video.
Named uses: navigation, human-robot interaction, wheelchair obstacle and road-surface detection, worker detection near forklifts and heavy machinery, restricted-workspace alerts, plus 2026's physical-AI data collection and imitation learning.
Recognition: CES 2023 Innovation Awards honoree (Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility), 2021 K-Global Startup Competition grand prize, SLINGSHOT 2024 Top 50, final 12 at the 16th Innovation World Cup (Hannover Messe 2025). Disclosed funding is small: Dealroom lists a KRW 200 million seed (September 2021; CNT Tech, Hyundai Motor Group) and a KRW 500 million TIPS award (November 2021); CB Insights estimates US$2.14 million total. The Developer Kit sells via eBay.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
All-in-one panoramic stereo 3D vision unit on Jetson Orin Nano with depth, point-cloud and ROS sample software.
Lower-spec ArgosVue developer unit on Jetson TX2 NX with 180-degree fisheye stereo optics.
Waterproof, dustproof panoramic 3D vision sensor module for indoor and outdoor robots, cabled to a separate AI computer.
Panoramic AI camera that upgrades CCTV with on-device human recognition, sending events instead of video.
