ANT-X is an Italian UAV manufacturer and academic spin-off of Politecnico di Milano, founded in 2020 by Mattia Giurato and Simone Panza. The company was established on the basis of experience gained by its co-founders within the Aerospace Systems and Control Laboratory (ASCL) of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano, located at Via Durando 39, Milan.
ANT-X designs, develops, and manufactures custom multirotor drone platforms and software tools for three primary markets: industrial inspection, research, and education. The company's engineering competencies span drone design, rapid prototyping, flight test, multi-agent systems, autonomous flight control, vision-based navigation, and lightweight composite materials.
The company's flagship industrial product is the ARIES drone, described as the first industry-ready fixed-tilt hexarotor made in Italy. ARIES is engineered specifically for non-destructive testing (NDT) contact inspections on infrastructure assets. Its fixed-tilted rotor configuration produces thrust forces in multiple directions, enabling stable flight while exerting forces against surfaces — the drone can push up to 30N forward while maintaining horizontal attitude. This capability allows ARIES to make controlled contact with structures during inspection, supporting ultrasonic testing and similar contact-measurement tasks on bridges, pipelines, storage tanks, and buildings.
For the education market, ANT-X offers the DroneLab platform, a laboratory solution providing flight robotics hardware and software tools for university research and teaching programs. The company has an active collaboration with TXT Group and Politecnico di Milano on the HEMS+ Scout drone project, which targets emergency medical service scouting applications.
ANT-X remains a privately held S.r.l. under founder management and maintains a close relationship with Politecnico di Milano's aerospace research community.
