Kraken Robotics Posts Record Growth

Canadian marine robotics leader Kraken Robotics Inc. (TSX-V: PNG / OTCQB: KRKNF) has delivered record financial results for Q3 2025, reporting 60% year-over-year consolidated revenue growth to CA$31.3 million. This surge was driven by record shipments of subsea batteries and synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) systems to defence and offshore energy clients, as well as strong services demand including LiDAR and sub-bottom imaging following its acquisition of 3D at Depth. Gross profit jumped 81% and margins improved, underscoring robust demand in key markets.

Kraken had earlier reported a 16% consolidated revenue increase in Q2 2025, with particularly strong growth in subsea battery and services revenues. The company maintains annual 2025 guidance of CA$120–135 million revenue with expanding defence sector opportunities as uncrewed platforms are adopted globally.

Meanwhile, U.S. ocean robotics company Nauticus Robotics (NASDAQ: KITT) reported third-quarter 2025 revenue of about US$1.9–2 million, a significant year-over-year increase but accompanied by a net loss of roughly US$6.6–6.8 million as the company continues to invest in commercializing its autonomous platforms and software. Nauticus also highlighted certification of its ToolKITT™ autonomy software on retrofitted ROVs, expanding its addressable market beyond proprietary vehicles.

The global Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) market — encompassing autonomous or remotely operated surface vessels — is rapidly expanding across military, commercial, and scientific sectors. Market analysts project strong growth over the next decade, with **North America’s USV segment alone forecast to reach over USD 1 billion by 2028 on technology adoption in defence operations, maritime security, environmental monitoring, and offshore inspections. The broader USV ecosystem is seeing rising investments in autonomy, sensor integration, and multi-platform interoperability.
