External sensor infrastructure and visual AI agents extend robot perception beyond onboard systems, enabling safety-certified autonomous operation at maximum throughput in dynamic human-robot environments
PHILADELPHIA, PA — June 22, 2026 — FORT Robotics, the Trust Layer for Physical AI, has announced it is joining the NVIDIA Halos for Robotics ecosystem, extending its safety platform with a new Outside-In Safety capability that pushes autonomous robot perception beyond what onboard sensors alone can deliver. FORT will demonstrate an agentic safety application built on the open-source NVIDIA Halos Outside-In Safety Blueprint at Automate 2026 in Chicago this week, and will present alongside NVIDIA in the Humanoid Robotics Pavilion on June 23rd.
The collaboration addresses a long-standing constraint in autonomous system deployments: traditional inside-out safety architectures, which rely solely on onboard perception, impose conservative operating limits that reduce throughput and limit flexibility in constantly changing warehouse and factory environments. Outside-In Safety breaks that constraint.
By combining the NVIDIA Halos Outside-In Safety Blueprint with FORT’s Trust Layer, the solution integrates external infrastructure sensors — including building-mounted cameras — and visual AI agents to deliver real-time, safety-certifiable functional safety. Leveraging NVIDIA IGX Thor and NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge for AI compute and sensor connectivity, the platform enables robots to operate alongside workers at high-efficiency modes while dynamically adapting to complex, unpredictable environments.
“Safety has always been the precondition for scale — you can’t deploy robots broadly if you can’t guarantee they’ll operate safely around people and valuable infrastructure. What collaborating with NVIDIA gives us is enhanced perception that makes safety genuinely intelligent. Agentic robots that understand their environment and respond in real time aren’t just safer, they’re more productive. That’s the combination the industry has been waiting for.”
— Samuel Reeves, CEO, FORT Robotics
Three Dimensions of Value
The Outside-In Safety capability delivers benefits across three operational dimensions for warehousing, manufacturing, and other automated industries:
Enhanced Productivity
Traditional safety systems were designed for predictable machines in bounded settings, lacking the flexibility required for mobile robots in dynamic environments. Outside-In Safety automatically modulates robot efficiency in response to real-time conditions, reducing costly slowdowns and optimizing both safety and throughput simultaneously.
Worker Safety and Accident Prevention
As more facilities adopt autonomous systems and Physical AI, safety frameworks must evolve to protect workers in mixed human-robot environments. Outside-In Safety provides proactive situational awareness — enabling the system to anticipate and prevent safety incidents in real time rather than simply reacting to them.
Maximized ROI on Existing Infrastructure
Building-mounted cameras and other existing infrastructure assets can be repurposed as active safety inputs, unlocking new cost savings without additional hardware investment. Applications include trailer truck unloading, inventory replenishment, product assembly, and other high-frequency logistics and manufacturing workflows.
FORT’s Complete Trust Layer for Physical AI
Outside-In Safety extends FORT’s existing Trust Layer, which now spans three integrated safety dimensions:
Outside-In Safety (new): Automatically modulates robot efficiency across dynamic environments using external sensor infrastructure, reducing costly slowdowns without sacrificing safety.
Onboard Active Safety: Embedded or bolt-on perception technology enables machines to actively detect, anticipate, and respond to their environments in real time — enabling smart planning and contingency maneuvers beyond traditional reactive safety architectures.
Human-in-the-Loop Control: Safe and reliable remote operation covering both line-of-sight control and remote intervention capabilities.

A Safety Ecosystem Built for Scale
FORT is a member of the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, the world’s first ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB)-accredited inspection lab purpose-built for Physical AI and autonomous systems. The lab provides a unified framework to verify functional safety, cybersecurity, and AI compliance across autonomous vehicles, robotics, and sensor technologies — positioning FORT at the center of the emerging physical AI safety certification landscape.
Since its founding in 2018, FORT has secured 27 patents and deployed more than 19,000 units to a global customer base of over 600 organizations, including Fortune 500 leaders in agriculture, construction, and warehousing.
