ZS Robotics is a Shanghai warehouse automation company that designs and builds four-way pallet shuttles, vertical lifts and control software for high-density pallet automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). Its Chinese brand name is Zhishi Robotics. The company was founded in 2019, although its team dates its four-way shuttle development work to 2013. Headquarters are on the 7th floor of Building 3, Lane 260 Wanghui Road, Minhang District, Shanghai, and production takes place at a manufacturing center in Kunshan, Suzhou, opened in 2023. In 2026 the company established local teams in the United States (Katy, Texas) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam) and reported expansion into North America, Europe, South America and Australia.
The four-way shuttle travels along rails in both rack directions, so pallets can be stored many positions deep. The first-generation mechanical shuttle, the H150, appeared in 2020. The current lineup lists six models: the ZS-H125, a 125 mm ultra-low-profile unit rated for 1,500 kg with a 310 kg vehicle weight, 1.5 m/s top speed, 48 V/50 Ah battery and 8 to 12 hours of runtime; the ZS-H145, a 145 mm variant tolerant of deformed pallets; the ZS-W640, a compact 300 kg unit for small loads travelling at up to 2.5 m/s; the ZS-W850, an 850 mm wide model intended for narrow-aisle retrofits; the ZS-L2500 for 2,500 kg heavy loads; and the ZS-X1 for customized applications. Design features cited by the company include a 20-wheel drive chassis that it says reduces rail stress by 30 percent, six LiDAR and four time-of-flight sensors within a 15-sensor safety system, operation from -25 to 50 C for cold storage, a 90 percent modular build and five-minute component replacement.
Shuttles move between levels on ZS lifts, offered in standard, high-speed and single-position versions with rack-and-pinion lifting, plus or minus 2 mm positioning accuracy and lifting speeds of at least 36 m/min, or 60 m/min for the high-speed model. The ZSmart platform, introduced in 2022, combines warehouse management (WMS), warehouse control (WCS) and robot control (RCS) functions in one architecture marketed as WCS+, and the company states the RCS module can coordinate more than 200 robots simultaneously. A digital twin simulation tool lets layouts and scheduling strategies be tested before deployment. Packaged solutions include PickStore Flow, CrossLink Flow for multi-floor sites and Freeze Flow for cold storage.
Target industries are retail and e-commerce, food and beverage, third-party logistics, automotive, energy, electronics, chemicals and general manufacturing. The company states that its shuttles and lifts are CE, UL and CSA certified for international deployment, and it was granted High-Tech Enterprise status by the Shanghai authorities in 2021. It raised an angel round in 2023, a Series A in 2024 and a Series A+ in 2025; amounts and investors are not published on its site. It exhibited at LogiMAT and MODEX in 2026, introduced the H125 to the US market, and runs ZS Academy, a pre-sales engineer training program for its global partners.
