WISAP Medical Technology GmbH is a German manufacturer of minimally invasive surgical devices based in Brunnthal, near Munich. Prof. Dr. Kurt Semm, a pioneer of modern laparoscopy, shaped the company after its founding in 1959. Endoscope Trading Corporation Limited, part of Shanghai-based Aohua Group, acquired WISAP from its previous owner Blue Cap in June 2018, and WISAP now also distributes Aohua's endoscope line alongside its own products.
The company manufactures instruments for laparoscopic and hysteroscopic gynecology across six product groups: FHD and 4K imaging systems with matched endoscopes; warm-gas insufflators, including the Heatflow 50; the FlexiPump irrigation system for fluid management; reusable and hybrid morcellation systems for tissue removal; thermocoagulation devices for treating cervical precancer stages CIN 1 to 3; and reusable multi-use surgical instruments. All products are manufactured in Germany. The company holds EN ISO 13485:2016 certification, complies with the EU Medical Device Regulation and the prior Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, and uses TUV SUD as its notified body.
