Ozarow Mazowiecki, Poland defence electronics maker founded 1997 and leader of WB Group; builds WARMATE loitering munitions, exported to dozens of countries.
WB Electronics S.A. is a Polish defence electronics and unmanned systems manufacturer based at Poznanska 129/133 in Ozarow Mazowiecki, west of Warsaw, which also serves as the headquarters of WB Group. The company describes itself as the leader and main shareholder of WB Group, which it calls the largest private defence industry group in Poland. It was founded in 1997 by the engineers Piotr Wojciechowski, now president of the management board, Adam Bartosiewicz, vice president, and Krzysztof Wysocki, and began with about a dozen employees.
Its first major programme came in 1998, when the Polish Ministry of National Defence sought an artillery fire control system; WB Electronics developed ZZKO TOPAZ, which was implemented two years later and became a standard in the Polish Army. In 2001 it developed the FONET digital in-vehicle communication system, which has been sold to several dozen countries and was licensed to the US company Harris in 2009. The company lists its core competencies as digital reconnaissance and command systems, digital communication and data transmission, cybersecurity and systems integration, and states that its technologies are exported to several dozen countries.
Unmanned systems form a major part of its current portfolio. The WARMATE loitering munition is an electrically powered combat unmanned aerial vehicle with a 1.6 m wingspan, a maximum take-off weight of 5.7 kg, an operational line-of-sight range of 30 km and a flight time of about 70 minutes; it can carry high-explosive or thermobaric warheads, can be recovered and reused in its observation configuration, and is used by Polish and foreign armed forces. The U-GATE dismounted observation and command system gives special forces an augmented-reality headset weighing under 1.5 kg, a PERAD software-defined radio and a portable computer, allowing soldiers to receive UAV video and to control WARMATE through a virtual ground control station. TOPAZ ICMS, the integrated combat management system grown from the original fire control software, links artillery and loitering munition strike systems with reconnaissance inputs, including unmanned aerial systems, in man-packable, vehicle, forward operating base and area-of-operations configurations. Other products listed for the company include the FONET digital communication platform for tactical vehicles and a 3.5-tonne electric delivery platform drive.
WB Electronics holds AQAP 2110:2016, AQAP 2210:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 certificates, an NCAGE code and an internal compliance programme certificate. Its 2026 announcements include a teaming agreement with Optix, artillery cooperation with KNDS presented at MSPO 2026 and TOPAZ and FONET deliveries supporting Croatian rocket artillery. In September 2026 RobotToday reported that Polish authorities were investigating possible terrorism behind a fire at a WB Electronics drone facility.
