Valiant TMS is a Windsor, Ontario-based systems integrator for manufacturing automation, tracing its roots to Avco Tool & Die, a tool-and-die shop founded in Windsor in 1959 by Michael G. Solcz. The business was renamed Valiant Machine & Tool in 1963, added in-house fabrication through Valco Manufacturing in 1965, and formed Valiant Tool & Mold in 1972 for plastic injection tooling. In 2006, Valiant acquired the Austrian automation firm TMS Transport- und Montagesysteme, forming Valiant TMS, and the combined company marked 65 years in business in 2024.
Valiant TMS designs and integrates production systems for Body-in-White assembly, powertrain and propulsion assembly, welding and joining, automated assembly and functional test, material handling automation, industrial parts washing and deburring, aerospace tooling, fabrication and machining, and e-mobility battery assembly and test. Its customers span the automotive, aerospace and heavy-industry manufacturing sectors, for which it builds and installs production lines and test cells.
The company currently reports more than 1,300 team members working from 18 locations across 9 countries, with over 1.3 million square feet of manufacturing and engineering capacity. Its subsidiaries include Valco Manufacturing for custom metal fabrication and low-volume production, and Valiant Tool & Mold for plastic injection tooling.
