Company Overview

TYM Corporation is a South Korean agricultural machinery manufacturer headquartered in Seoul. It was founded on 28 September 1951 as Tong Yang Moolsan, opened the Anyang farm machinery factory in 1973, entered the US tractor market in 2004, acquired Kukje Machinery (Branson tractors) in 2016 and took the TYM name in 2020. The company is listed on the Korea Exchange under ticker 002900 and is led by co-CEOs Hiyong Kim and Dohoon Kim. Revenue for fiscal 2020 was KRW 713.3 billion.

TYM's range spans sub-compact Series 1 and 2 tractors (about 21.5-24 hp), compact Series 3 and 4 (24-58 hp), compact utility Series 5 (67-75 hp) and utility Series 6 (111-127 hp), alongside combine harvesters such as the TH1200, with a 120 hp engine and 2,600 mm cutting width, and rice transplanters. Products are sold through dealer networks in Korea, North America and other export markets.

TYM has worked on self-driving farm machinery for more than a decade. It demonstrated a tractor capable of straight-line and turning autonomous driving in 2013 and a high-density system with about 15 cm error in 2017. Its subsidiary TYM ICT, set up around 2020 for precision agriculture, showed a self-driving tractor in Iksan in July 2021 with path deviation under 7 cm and stopping error of 2 cm, including night operation, plus smartphone telematics for remote control, work logs and theft prevention. The RGO-690 rice transplanter received government Level 2 autonomy certification, and in May 2024 the T130 tractor passed Korea's comprehensive autonomous-driving test for turning and implement control, with RTK GNSS steering achieving 2 cm stopping error and 4-5 cm working error. At the 2025 Iksan Agricultural Machinery Expo TYM unveiled the T4058NC autonomous upland tractor, developed with Durugi Machinery in its AI-squared consortium, demonstrating integrated tractor-implement autonomous operation with a bed former.
