Tulip Tech B.V. is a Dutch battery technology company founded in 2020 and headquartered in Den Bosch, the Netherlands (Ruiterskampweg 2D, 5222BB), with a US office in Austin, Texas. The company designs, manufactures, and sells high-performance lithium battery systems purpose-built for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other aviation applications. All battery packs are engineered, assembled, and tested in-house using components sourced from Western suppliers, avoiding sanctioned-country supply chains.
Tulip Tech offers three product tiers. Custom smart batteries integrate a proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) with DroneCAN protocol support, enabling real-time telemetry, intelligent safety cut-offs, and optimized charge/discharge management; these are produced to customers' exact voltage, capacity, and form-factor requirements. The Osiris plug-and-play smart battery family—available in 12S configurations of 25 Ah, 28 Ah, 35 Ah, and 40 Ah—is a standardized product for teams wanting to upgrade without custom development. Custom bare battery packs are built around six proprietary cell chemistries: Electrica (350 Wh/kg, 4C discharge, LiPo), Enerza (400–525 Wh/kg, solid-state, 50–200 cycles), Cylindra (300 Wh/kg, cylindrical 18650/21700), Ampera (up to 450 Wh/kg, 1–6C, lithium metal), Voltera (up to 300 Wh/kg, 800+ cycles, 7C discharge), and Endura (up to 320 Wh/kg, 500+ cycles, 5C discharge).
The company maintains a database of 50+ battery cell suppliers and thousands of individual cells to identify optimal chemistry for each application. Each pack undergoes UN38.3 certification testing before shipping. Production capacity is up to 100,000 batteries per year per customized product line, with full traceability across the supply chain.
Notable customers and partnerships include Acecore (Noa drone up to 63% longer flight, Zoe up to 40% longer), Avy (organ transport drone with DroneCAN BMS integration), Tective ReFly (up to 75 minutes flight, 25 km range), and DeltaQuad Evo (up to 8 hours flight using 450 Wh/kg silicon-anode batteries). In October 2025 Tulip Tech signed a large-scale contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence. The company received strategic investment from Parcom and Keen Venture Partners and participated in the EU co-funded Netshield project on hybrid battery technology.
