Trio Motion Technology is a British manufacturer of motion-control hardware and software founded in 1987 and headquartered in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Since 2017 the company has operated as a subsidiary of China's Estun Group, following its acquisition by Estun's Dynacon Industrial Ltd.
Trio's core product line, the Motion Coordinator, spans controllers that manage from a single axis up to 128 axes of servo motors, stepper motors, piezo motors, and hydraulic actuators, offered in conventional, EtherCAT, and RTEX communication variants. The range also includes Motion-PLC controllers that combine motion control with PLC functionality, DX-series servo drives (DX3, DX4, DX5), MX-series servo motors, I/O expansion modules, machine keypads, and SCARA robotics solutions. The company supplies its own motion-programming language and development environment for coordinated motion sequences, cam profiles, and interpolation routines, serving packaging machinery, printing, semiconductor handling, battery manufacturing, electronics assembly, and general factory-automation applications.
Trio maintains application-engineering teams in the UK, USA, Italy, India, and China, with additional research and development in Italy and Bulgaria, and sells through more than 100 partners worldwide. Products introduced under Estun ownership include the DX4 servo drive and MX motor series.
