Beijing OS and edge-AI software firm (SZSE: 300496) supplying robot compute modules, robot OS and AMRs, with a wheeled-arm humanoid shown at WRC 2026.
ThunderSoft (Thunder Software Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Beijing-based provider of operating systems and on-device (edge) AI software. It started operating in 2008 and has been listed on the ChiNext board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2015 (stock code 300496). The company says it employs more than 15,000 people, over 90% of them in R&D, and runs R&D and support centres in more than 40 cities worldwide. Its core businesses are smart-automotive software (cockpit OS and the Kanzi HMI graphics engine), smart-IoT terminal software, IoT OS and modules, edge-AI development boards such as Rubik Pi, and an enterprise AI operating system, WiseEvolve. Much of its hardware work is built on Qualcomm platforms.
Robotics is now a named business line on the official site. It has four strands.
Robot compute and OS. ThunderSoft's Intelligent Robot Solution is built on the Qualcomm robotics platform. It offers system-on-modules (SOMs) at several compute levels for high-, mid- and low-end robots, together with an operating system, development kits and engineering services, for industrial, service and consumer robots. Thundercomm is a joint venture of ThunderSoft and Qualcomm founded in 2016. At embedded world 2026 it introduced the TurboX IRB10, a development board and reference design on the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ10 series. It offers up to 700 TOPS of AI compute and up to 20 concurrent camera inputs, and is aimed at industrial AMRs, full-size humanoid robots and commercial service robots. Release was planned for Q2 2026. At WAIC 2026 ThunderSoft also showed AquaClaw for IoT, an on-device robot agent framework built around perception, understanding, action and governance, with a skill-evolution mechanism and fast and slow execution paths.
Mobile robots. ThunderSoft's incubated subsidiary Xiaowu Intelligence (knewbots.com) sells a software-led range of logistics robots. The range includes latent (under-ride) AMRs with millimetre-level docking accuracy and 360-degree protection, forklift-type robots for narrow-aisle, high-density storage, transfer robots and composite (mobile manipulator) robots. It also has its own KnewMind algorithm platform. Xiaowu entered a joint team with the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center at the second World Humanoid Robot Games, which won two gold medals and one silver.
Embodied-AI hardware. At the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, ThunderSoft showed industrial embodied-AI hardware: an industrial-grade omnidirectional chassis, a flexible quick-change tool belt that swaps end-effectors in seconds without tools (with self-centring, power-loss self-locking and status detection), and a wheeled-arm humanoid robot for heavy handling, multi-SKU picking and precision assembly. During the same event it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center covering embodied AI, robot technology and industrial deployment.
Customers and investments. ThunderSoft provided a customised solution, including mass-production technical support, for Orionstar's Greetbot reception robot series, which is deployed in more than 20 industry scenarios. In 2026 it also invested in the service-robot company Astribot.
For RobotToday's humanoid landscape, ThunderSoft fits best as a robot OS, edge-AI and compute-module supplier. Its own AMRs and the wheeled humanoid shown at WRC 2026 are secondary to that role.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Thundercomm reference design and dev board on Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ10 for industrial AMRs, full-size humanoids and service robots, shown at embedded world 2026.
Qualcomm-based robot SOMs in several compute tiers bundled with an operating system, development kits and services for industrial, service and consumer robots.
On-device robot agent framework shown at WAIC 2026 with perception, understanding, action and governance layers, skill evolution and fast/slow execution paths.
Under-ride logistics AMR from subsidiary Xiaowu Intelligence with multiple navigation modes, 360-degree protection and millimetre-level docking.
Industrial wheeled humanoid shown at WRC 2026 for heavy handling, multi-SKU picking and precision assembly, with an omnidirectional chassis and quick-change tool belt.
