Teradyne Robotics is the robotics division of Teradyne Inc., a Massachusetts-based test-equipment and automation company based in North Reading. The division comprises two companies Teradyne has acquired: Universal Robots, which builds collaborative robot arms, and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), which builds autonomous mobile robots. Jean-Pierre Hathout has served as President of the Teradyne Robotics Group since 2025.
Universal Robots, founded in 2005, produces collaborative robot arms including the UR10e and the newer UR15 and UR30 models, and has sold more than 65,000 units with a workforce of over 1,000 people. MiR produces autonomous mobile robots for intralogistics, including the MiR1200 Pallet Jack, and has sold more than 20,000 units. Both companies supply collaborative and autonomous mobile robots that work alongside people on manufacturing and material-handling tasks across metalworking, automotive, and logistics operations.
