SquareMind is a Paris, France-based medical robotics company founded in 2019 by Ali Khachlouf and Tanguy Serrat.
The company has developed Swan™, the world's first robot designed to perform standardized, full-body dermoscopic skin imaging. Swan uses a robotic arm that moves autonomously around a standing patient in a private exam room, guided by visual and audio prompts, to capture dermoscopic-resolution images of the entire skin surface in just a few minutes. The system provides full-body skin mapping at a level of magnification typically achieved only when dermatologists examine individual moles up close, acting as an augmented dermatoscope for systematic, contactless, whole-body assessment. Swan is paired with an AI platform that supports change detection, tracking lesions and moles over time to assist dermatologists in identifying abnormalities earlier. The device is FDA-listed and CE-marked. In April 2026, SquareMind closed an $18 million funding round (approximately €15.3 million) to support commercial launch of Swan in the United States and Europe. The round was led by Sonder Capital — a California-based healthcare venture fund co-founded by Intuitive Surgical founder Fred Moll — with participation from the French government's Deeptech 2030 Fund managed by Bpifrance, Adamed Technology, Calm/Storm Ventures, and Teampact Ventures.
