Company Overview

Sparck Technologies is a Netherlands-based global leader in automated fit-to-size (FTS) packaging technology, with roots tracing back to 1924 when its predecessor company HaDeWe was established in Drachten, Friesland. For a century, the company has been dedicated to innovation in packaging automation. Originally part of Quadient's Automated Packaging Solutions (APS) business, the company was acquired by Dutch investment firm Standard Investment and rebranded as Sparck Technologies. In April 2025, Sparck Technologies was further acquired by Packsize, reinforcing its position within the global packaging automation sector.

Sparck Technologies designs, manufactures, and delivers fully automated packaging systems that measure items, construct custom-dimensioned cardboard boxes around them, and apply labeling — all in a single continuous process. Their flagship product lines, the CVP Impack and CVP Everest, have collectively produced more than 200 million right-sized parcels. The CVP Impack handles up to 500 boxes per hour, while the high-throughput CVP Everest reaches up to 1,100 boxes per hour — making it one of the fastest fit-to-size packaging machines in the industry.

The technology addresses two major pain points in modern e-commerce fulfillment: excess packaging waste and high shipping costs driven by dimensional weight pricing. By automatically producing perfectly sized boxes, Sparck's systems can reduce packaging volume by up to 50%, dramatically cutting void fill material usage and enabling more parcels to fit per pallet and delivery vehicle. This contributes to measurable sustainability improvements and significant cost savings across logistics operations.

Sparck's clientele spans major e-commerce retailers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and distribution centers across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. The company also integrates downstream robotic palletizing systems that pick completed boxes from conveyors and stack them on pallets, extending the automation chain from packing to shipping readiness.

The company has established a global sales and service network and collaborates with system integrators to deploy its solutions within complex warehouse automation environments. Sparck Technologies continues to advance its CVP product line, incorporating AI-based item measurement and improved throughput capabilities to serve the rapidly growing demand for automated fulfillment infrastructure.
