"L'innovation concrete"
SITIA is a Nantes-area engineering SME founded in 1986 that builds test benches and special machines and developed TREKTOR, a hybrid autonomous tractor.
SITIA is a French engineering SME based in Bouguenais, near Nantes, that designs and builds test benches, special production machinery and robotic systems. The company was founded in 1986 on the campus of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes to transfer laboratory technology to industry. It was owned by the aeronautical equipment maker ACB from 2001 and was taken over in 2008 by Jean-Pierre Le Goff, founder of SIREHNA; it is directed by Fabien Arignon.
SITIA's test bench range covers universal benches, fluid-transfer benches, rotating-machine benches, robotised test benches, standardised benches and other custom benches for industrial laboratories and technical centres. Its production offer includes production machines and systems and "factory of the future" projects, and its robotics department provides robotics engineering, support for the development of robotic solutions and robotisation of existing systems. The company serves the automotive, aerospace, rail, agricultural machinery and cycling sectors, has exported since 2003 to about fifteen countries, and reports that around 40% of its activity is export across five continents. In 2015 it had a 1,000 m2 workshop and 400 m2 of offices. SITIA is a member of the EMC2 and VEGEPOLYS competitiveness clusters and initiated the PUMagri and PRIMABOR R&D projects.
Its own robot product is TREKTOR, presented as the first hybrid autonomous tractor, designed to be versatile across tasks, crops and implements. TREKTOR targets vineyards (narrow and wide rows), market gardening, field vegetables and arboriculture, and performs repetitive work such as soil tillage, spraying and hoeing. Width and height adjust to the crop; standard implements mount on a category II three-point hitch, and an additional interface supports pushed or pulled tools on a boom as used on straddle tractors. An electric drivetrain recharged by an onboard diesel generator gives up to 24 hours of autonomous work, and multiple sensors support navigation, perception, localisation and maintenance. SITIA states the technology is CE-certified.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Hybrid autonomous tractor for vineyards, market gardening and arboriculture, adjustable in width and height.
Custom test benches integrating robots for industrial laboratories and technical centres.
