Physical AI startup founded in 2026 whose Simate-beta robot model topped the RoboDojo leaderboard; also builds the Sinfra training platform.
Simate, short for Silicon Mate, is a physical AI company that develops foundation models and development infrastructure for robots. Its official site, reached through simate.ai, is hosted at mate-robot.cn. The company was reported in late September 2026 to have been founded only three months earlier and to have completed several financing rounds, each in the hundreds of millions of renminbi, from undisclosed investors.
The company describes its offer as three connected parts: Sinfra as the platform, Sipai as the model system and RoboScientist as an AI scientist. Simate-beta, announced in September 2026, is its first general physical fast-system model, a System 1 style policy aimed at real-time action, built around 4D physical perception and hierarchical temporal memory and intended for zero-shot generalisation and edge deployment. On the RoboDojo leaderboard updated on 23 September 2026 it ranked first with an average score of 33.95 and a success rate of 27.96 percent; the company said the entry was not specifically tuned for the benchmark and that real-robot results would be reported separately. Architecture and parameter count are deferred to a later technical report. Sipai itself is presented as a modular framework in which data, models and training recipes are composed through one configuration and one traceable training loop, with training, evaluation and deployment workflows listed as in development.
Sinfra is physical AI development infrastructure for robotics teams moving from model experiments to deployed behaviour. It links data, training, simulation, compute and deployment in four stages, from defining a task and success criteria through validation in simulation to guarded robot trials whose results feed the next iteration. It supports more than 200 TB of datasets, including public collections such as AgiBot World Beta, Daimon-Infinity, ABC-130k and Open X-Embodiment, offers Enterprise and Cloud workspaces with an agent that configures and monitors training runs, and includes custom simulation scenes built to a customer's objects and tasks. Example tasks include single-arm, bimanual and mobile manipulation and visual inspection. An AutoResearch platform, in internal beta with researchers from MIT, Caltech, Tsinghua and Peking University, lets agents run experiments from research context, logs and evaluation feedback; RoboScientist is shown as a research preview.
Reported co-founders are Zhang Ying, formerly a core technical lead for end-to-end driving at a Chinese autonomous driving company; Zhan Fangneng, an assistant professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology who heads the World Mind Lab; and Ji Mazeyu, a researcher in 3D perception, dexterous manipulation and humanoid whole-body control who was a founding member of Assured Robot Intelligence. Simate has said it will open-source parts of its work in phases.
