Macrotellect, Ltd. is a consumer neurotechnology company headquartered in Shenzhen, China, with a European office in Linden, Germany. Founded in 2010, it develops the BrainLink family of EEG headbands together with mobile apps and developer tools for attention and meditation training.
The line began with the first-generation BrainLink and now centers on the BrainLink Lite and BrainLink Pro, plus a BrainLink Pink limited edition. The BrainLink Pro records a single dry EEG channel at the FP1 prefrontal position with ear-clip reference and ground electrodes, adds PPG heart rate and forehead temperature sensing in its headband, and includes a 9-axis motion sensor. Data streams over Bluetooth 4.0 BLE to iOS, Android, Mac and PC, and a UL-approved lithium battery gives about 6 hours of use on a 3-hour charge. Macrotellect has published more than 20 apps, including the focus trainer Mind Sport and the meditation title Zen Garden, and provides a third-party SDK for iOS, Android, Mac and PC so developers can build applications on real-time attention and relaxation metrics.
The company holds Apple MFi certification (2012-2013), was recognized as a National High Technology Enterprise in 2013 and received a first-prize Technical Invention Award from China's Ministry of Education in 2016. Its products have been shown at CES, TechCrunch and Maker Faire.
