Serve Robotics is an American autonomous delivery robot company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It was originally founded in 2017 as the robotics division of Postmates, which was subsequently acquired by Uber Technologies. Serve continued developing its sidewalk delivery platform under Uber before spinning out as an independent company in 2021. Serve Robotics completed its Nasdaq listing in 2024 under the ticker symbol SERV.
The company designs, manufactures, and operates fleets of autonomous sidewalk delivery robots for last-mile food, grocery, and retail goods delivery. Its Gen3 robot measures approximately 79 cm long, 64 cm wide, and 105 cm tall, weighs 73 kg, and carries a 23 kg (50 lb) cargo payload. The Gen3 platform achieves a maximum travel speed of 6 mph (10 km/h), supports 14 hours of continuous operation, and covers up to 48 miles per charge cycle. Sensors include 360-degree Ouster REV7 digital LiDAR, multiple RGB cameras, time-of-flight sensors, and GPS for sidewalk navigation and pedestrian traffic compliance. Serve partners with Uber Eats and DoorDash for delivery dispatch. As of mid-2026 the company has deployed more than 2,000 robots serving over 4,000 restaurants and reaching approximately 3 million consumers, with operations targeting 44 cities across 14 US states.
In January 2026, Serve acquired Diligent Robotics, expanding its physical AI platform from sidewalk delivery into indoor service robots used in hospitals. In June 2026, Serve announced a partnership with NoScrubs for robot laundry delivery in select Los Angeles neighborhoods — its first commercial urban delivery use case outside prepared food. Q1 2026 revenue reached $3.0 million, up 238% sequentially and 578% year-over-year, with full-year 2026 guidance of approximately $26 million. The company employed approximately 291 people as of late 2025.
