Company Overview

"Sentigent Technology is a Chinese consumer robotics startup founded in April 2024 and based in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, operating as Suzhou Shentingji Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. It builds a wheel-legged outdoor companion robot and is aimed primarily at affluent households in the United States rather than at its domestic market.

The founding team is unusually senior for a company of this age. Chief executive Wang Tao studied artificial intelligence at Stanford University under Andrew Ng, co-founded the autonomous driving company Drive.ai in 2015, which Apple later acquired, and subsequently led visual perception at XPeng Motors before serving as director of innovation strategy at XPeng Robotics. Co-founder Sun Guoyong brings more than twenty years in smartphones, smart hardware and robotics, including senior roles at Samsung, Lenovo and Suning, and developed an early Linux-based smartphone operating system. Headcount grew from a handful of people to more than forty by January 2026, and the company reports fifteen technical patents covering multimodal learning, haptic localisation, terrain sensing and motion control.

The single product is Rovar X3, which the company describes as the first outdoor dual-wheel-leg companion robot. It is a roughly cubic body about 40 centimetres tall weighing around 15 kilograms, carried on two 7.5-inch wheel-legs that let it cross uneven outdoor ground, with a display on the front. It can carry about 5 kilograms of payload. Perception is camera-based: the company describes a dual-camera visual fusion arrangement with a wide-angle camera and ultrasonic sensing, a 4K camera for photo and video capture, and roughly one hundred TOPS of onboard compute. The robot identifies household members by face, gait and body shape, follows its owner autonomously over terrain without a pre-built map, avoids obstacles in real time, operates within an exploration range the company gives as one hundred to one thousand metres, and responds without a wake word, with a stated behavioural arbitration latency of 200 milliseconds. Marketed uses are hiking, camping and picnicking, transporting gear, interacting with pets and children, playing fetch and ball games, and recording video of the outing. Privacy controls over silent capture are advertised as part of the design.

Positioning is explicitly against two alternatives the company says American buyers face outdoors: a pet, or a quadruped robot at around seventy-five thousand dollars. Wang has described the target buyer as time-scarce and high-income, naming technology executives and founders, content creators and film professionals, and doctors and lawyers, and has given a target price below five thousand US dollars. The company argues that companionship products differentiate on doing things alongside the user rather than on conversation, and points to physical play as a capability rivals do not offer at volume.

Funding has come in two rounds within roughly six months. A seed-plus round of several tens of millions of renminbi closed in July 2025. An angel round of over one hundred million renminbi was announced on 5 January 2026, led by Bluehill Innovation with continued participation from existing shareholder Particle Future.

The product had not reached general availability at the time of this record. The company's own site states an expected consumer launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, following an initial showing in December 2025 and a stated plan to reach volume production in the second half of 2026 and to exhibit at CES. Specifications and pricing above are therefore company claims about a pre-production product and should be re-verified once units ship."
