SEEB Automation, a Groupe SEEB unit near Saint-Etienne, builds special machines, robotic palletizing and handling cells, test benches and vision QC systems.
SEEB Automation is the automation and special-machine subsidiary of Groupe SEEB, a French industrial solutions group founded in 1927 with about 230 employees, seven production sites and around EUR 40M in revenue. SEEB Automation is located in Saint-Priest-en-Jarez near Saint-Etienne, employs about 60 people and reports annual revenue of about EUR 13M. It took over the assets of ERI Automation, adding expertise in aluminium extrusion lines.
Its three core activities are the design and construction of special machines, precision and series mechanical assembly, and automation services with mechanical design offices. In robotics it designs and builds robotic cells for heavy and light loads, loading and unloading cells with integrated vision, palletizing systems and robotized workstations or complete lines, including handling of fragile or variable-geometry products and multi-product packing through its ROVIPACK setup. The group lists ABB, FANUC, KUKA and Staubli among the robot brands it integrates and has recently developed a cobotics offer. Vision work spans camera and lighting studies, 2D/3D measurement, defect and position checks, vision-guided robot trajectories and RFID/Datamatrix traceability; a vision-guided bread-scoring system won a DEFI PM3I innovation prize.
Other products include test benches for production and laboratories built on its OPHELY software, the OPHEL'EYES vision quality-control system, tire and rim assembly machines and tire-line equipment, aluminium post-extrusion handling, and deburring, sawing and milling lines for foundries. It also performs retrofits such as CNC modernization and HMI upgrades. Client logos include Airbus, Alstom, Michelin, Renault, Safran, Saint-Gobain, Framatome, Orano and Haribo. SEEB Automation is a member of the Reseau 3R robotics network.
