Schaeffler AG is a German motion-technology and precision-engineering group headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, founded in 1946 by brothers Wilhelm and Georg Schaeffler. The group is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under ticker SHA and remains majority-controlled by the Schaeffler family. Schaeffler reported revenue above 25 billion euros in 2023 and employed roughly 120,000 people worldwide that year. Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG is the group's main operating subsidiary.
Schaeffler manufactures rolling-element bearings, linear guidance systems, and drive-train components under its INA, FAG, and LuK brands, serving automotive, aerospace, and industrial customers. Its industrial division supplies bearings and precision components for machine tools, wind turbines, and factory automation equipment. The group also owns Vitesco Technologies, a supplier of automotive powertrain electronics.
Schaeffler India is separately listed on Indian stock exchanges, and the group operates production and engineering sites across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
