"The Intelligent Backbone of Space Operations"
Laconia, NH maker (est. 2020) of Orbots, maneuverable spacecraft for proximity operations, inspection and payload hosting, plus GPU-based space compute.
Rogue Space Systems Corporation is a US space company headquartered in Laconia, New Hampshire, that designs and builds Orbots: maneuverable orbital vehicles for rendezvous and proximity operations, inspection, payload hosting and in-space logistics. The company also develops onboard computing for orbital AI and data processing, and offers payload hosting, space domain awareness, in-space logistics and orbital data center services.
Rogue was founded in July 2020 in Laconia; co-founder Jon Beam is President and Chief Strategy Officer. Major General Brook Leonard (Ret.), former Chief of Staff of US Space Command, became CEO in 2024. The leadership team also includes Michael Pica (Chief Technology & Innovation Officer), David Franklin (Chief Revenue Officer) and Danielle Wheeler (EVP Operations). The Laconia headquarters and spacecraft production facility was expanded in summer 2022, and the company reported a team of more than 29 people in 2024.
Milestones listed by the company: a CRADA with the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate in 2020; selection for 17 Phase 1 STTR awards in 2022; launch of its first mission, Barry-1, on SpaceX Transporter-9 in November 2023, which flew its first GPU-based compute prototype; a first NASA contract in 2024 for ASTRA autonomy software; launch of the OTP-2 orbital test platform in March 2025; and a TACFI award for SAMRIC space domain awareness technology. In total the company reports 26 government R&D contracts (17 Phase 1 STTRs, 8 Phase 2 and 1 TACFI). Earlier Orbot concepts included Laura, a 12U inspection and monitoring spacecraft with HD and multispectral sensors, and Fred, a transport and capture vehicle with a propulsive ring for moving assets between orbits.
The Scalable Compute Platform (SCP) provides a full Linux high-performance computing environment for on-orbit inference, autonomous mission planning support, payload data triage and compression. SCP Gen 2 is flight-proven on OTP-2 (TRL 9); SCP Gen 3 is a 248 TOPS space-qualified micro data center scheduled to fly on OTP-2B in Q1 2027. Further test platforms OTP-3 (planned Q4 2027) and the Waypoint-1 mission (planned Q2 2029) are listed.
Rogue closed pre-seed rounds in 2020 and 2023 and a seed round in 2025; named investors include O'Neil Strategic Capital, Regolith, Starbridge Venture Capital and Seldor Capital. The company holds CMMC Level 2 certification and lists DARPA, US Space Force, AFRL, NASA, the Office of Space Commerce, NIST, Draper Laboratory and several universities among its customers and partners. Jon Beam is Vice President of CONFERS, the in-space servicing, assembly and manufacturing industry consortium.
