Founded by Sergiy Nesterenko, a former SpaceX engineer, Quilter's platform trains on the first principles of physics — electromagnetics and thermodynamics — rather than human-generated layouts, enabling fully autonomous placement and routing. The system generates and evaluates millions of potential layouts to optimize for performance, manufacturability, and cost.

Quilter integrates with industry-standard EDA tools including Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, and Siemens Xpedition. In December 2025, Quilter unveiled the world's first fully AI-designed computer (Project Speedrun), completing an 843-part Linux computer system that booted on the first try, using 38.5 hours of human labor versus 428 hours quoted by professional PCB designers. The company raised $25 million Series B in October 2025, led by Index Ventures, bringing total funding to $40 million.
