Quarero Robotics

Quarero Robotics is a Swiss autonomous security robotics company founded in 2021, headquartered at Chamerstrasse 170, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. The company develops AI-powered mobile ground robots for autonomous outdoor patrol of industrial perimeters, logistics yards, and KRITIS-classified critical infrastructure — including chemical parks, electrical substations, data centers, and water treatment facilities primarily across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

Quarero operates exclusively on a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model with monthly operational expenditure pricing. There is no hardware purchase option. The RaaS subscription includes hardware swap, software updates, preventive maintenance, and operator training. This model enables customers — primarily industrial security departments and contracted security service providers — to deploy advanced autonomous patrol capability as an operational cost rather than a capital investment.

The core product line consists of two platform variants. The QR-2 Mk1 is an autonomous outdoor patrol robot priced at approximately 3,500 euros per month. It carries a sensor stack combining RGB PTZ cameras, thermal imaging, LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors. All classification runs on-device at the edge — the system detects and classifies persons, vehicles, animals, and environmental artifacts (including weather anomalies) without requiring a cloud round-trip. Detection metadata is continuously uploaded over TLS-encrypted channels; full-resolution video is transmitted only upon detection events, preserving bandwidth and storage.

The QR-3 Premium, at approximately 3,800 euros per month, adds 360-degree LiDAR coverage and radio-frequency drone detection across both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Robots are rated for outdoor industrial environments and can operate continuous 24-hour patrol envelopes using hot-swap battery systems, eliminating staffing gaps and shift handover risks inherent to human security operations.

Quarero entered full-scale production in 2025, targeting deployment of 50 systems by year-end and scaling to 300 units by 2027. Engineering and assembly operations were established in Filderstadt near Stuttgart, Germany, in November 2025. The company was founded by Raphael Nagel and is led by CEO Marcus Kohnlein.
