PROXAUT S.r.l. designs and manufactures automated guided vehicles at Piumazzo, Castelfranco Emilia (Modena), Italy, and employs about 60 people. The company traces its AGV business to 1997, when founder Stefano Ballotti moved from standard vehicles to customised, application-specific models.
The catalogue has three families. The LH Lifter series covers autonomous forklifts with front, bilateral and trilateral fork systems plus clamp, bucket, Side-Up, single-mast and double-mast variants, and very-narrow-aisle machines working above 11 m; standard capacity reaches 6,000 kg, with special vehicles to 14,000 kg. The SH Shuttle series covers forkless platforms and roller-conveyor shuttles from about 500 kg to 9,000 kg, and the company reports aerospace shuttles built for components above 170 tonnes. The OUTDOOR series adapts shuttles for open-air use, with published models from 2,000 kg to 12,000 kg, one of them linked to a weather station. Vehicles can be supplied in painted steel or AISI 304 food-grade stainless steel for HACCP-governed plants and cold rooms to -20 °C.
Guidance options are laser, inertial (floor magnets), wire guidance and LiDAR-SLAM, and can be combined on one vehicle. The control stack comprises Supervisor, the AGVCOM status/command bridge, the AGVX traffic and mission manager and a GUI module, with cloud battery monitoring on lithium packs.
Proxaut reports more than 680 AGVs installed for over 350 customers in more than 16 countries across 30-plus sectors; documented projects include INVAT, Larioplast, Kohler Engines, Charter Steel and Mutti. It joined Middleby's food-processing group on 29 June 2022 and, after the spin-off completed on 6 July 2026, is part of Midera Food Processing, Inc. (NASDAQ: MFP).
