Company Overview

PrismaX is a San Francisco company that supplies real-world training data for robot foundation models, including vision-language-action (VLA) models. Its legal entity is Beaver Intelligence Incorporated, doing business as PrismaX.

The main product is Robotics Data, a searchable library of teleoperation and egocentric (first-person) episodes that covers a range of tasks, scenes and robot arms. Customers can browse and download from the library under three subscription plans. Discover costs $9 per month ($7 per month billed annually) and opens about 20% of the library. Researcher costs $89 per month ($71 per month billed annually) and opens about 60%. Enterprise has custom pricing, full library access and on-demand collection, where episodes are captured to the customer's task, embodiment and scene requirements. PrismaX states a custom-collection capacity of 5,000 hours per month, more than 1,700 deployed scenarios and more than 120,000 episodes delivered.

The data comes from VLA Foundry, a paid network of contributors. Contributors can take part in two ways. In egocentric recording, they film ordinary hands-on tasks with a headset or camera, and only clips that meet the company's "Operator Intent" standard are paid. In teleoperation, they run sessions on their own robot hardware and are paid for each valid session. PrismaX says contributors have earned more than $1M in total.

PrismaX launched its teleoperation platform in August 2025. The platform lets registered users operate robotic arms remotely through a web login, and the sessions produce visual data for model training. Robots listed for the platform at launch were Unitree G1, UBTech Walker, Pollen Robotics Reachy 2, K-Scale Labs K-Bot, Boardwalk Robotics Alex, Enchanted Tools Mirokai, MIT Mini-Cheetah and Unitree Go2-W. At launch the company also announced a teleoperation tournament with incentives, and it said fleet operations and humanoid robot access were planned for later. The company organizes RoboCon by PrismaX events.

The company describes its work in three pillars. The first is data: protocols for validating and incentivizing large-scale visual data collection. The second is teleoperation: shared standards for operator access, payments and software. The third is models: foundation models for autonomous robots. Its stated goal is a "data flywheel" in which larger datasets improve models, make teleoperation more efficient and pay for more real-world collection. Revenue from the resulting models is meant to flow back to the people who created the data. Applications named at launch include humanoid robots for laundry folding, fast-food assembly and medication handling in hospitals.

PrismaX was co-founded by CEO Bayley Wang, who has a robotics background, and Chyna Qu, who has experience in robotics and decentralized technologies. The company came out of stealth at a16z's CSX Demo Day on June 3, 2025, with $11M in funding. a16z CSX led the round, which included $7M from a16z. Other investors were Volt Capital, Symbolic, the Stanford Blockchain Builder Fund, Virtuals Protocol and angel investors. The company also lists a16z, Nvidia, Volt Capital, Stanford University and MIT as backers. PrismaX listed IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh (September 27, 2026) among its events.
