Rockaway, New Jersey maker of cordless non-hydraulic rescue tools, formed 2004 from a Curtiss-Wright buyout; acquired by Snap-on in 2019.
Power Hawk Technologies, Inc. manufactures cordless, non-hydraulic rescue and extrication tools from its headquarters in Rockaway, New Jersey. The product concept traces to the early 1990s, when Curtiss-Wright engineer and volunteer firefighter William R. Hickerson adapted aerospace Power Hinge gear actuator technology into a battery-powered rescue tool, introduced publicly as the P-16 Rescue System at the 1994 FDIC show in Cincinnati. The engineering team bought the product line from Curtiss-Wright in 2004, forming Power Hawk Technologies as an independent company; Snap-on Incorporated acquired the business in 2019. Power Hawk holds ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Current products include the P-16X cordless spreader/cutter/combi tool, converting between functions using 12-volt DC gear actuators without hydraulic fluid or hoses; the P4 rescue tool, co-developed with Netherlands-based RESQTEC using lithium-ion batteries and electronic direct-drive motors; and the AUTO CRIB-IT vehicle stabilization system introduced in 2006. It also maintains an N.E.R.A.T. unmanned-access tool program for explosive ordnance disposal and law enforcement use against vehicle-borne devices.
Customers include fire departments, military units, law enforcement bomb squads and industrial rescue teams, with tools built for confined spaces and collapsed structures where hydraulic equipment is impractical.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
