Munich AMR maker whose PIXEL PT pallet transporter navigates by a ceiling-camera digital twin, lifting 1,300 kg in block storage and narrow aisles
Pixel Robotics GmbH is a Munich-based manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots for intralogistics. It is registered at Amtsgericht München under HRB 231106, VAT number DE 311 269 992, with Valentin Knöpfle as managing partner.
Its product is the PIXEL PT, an AMR designed from scratch for pallet transport in industrial halls. Published specifications are a maximum lifting weight of 1,300 kg, top speed 1.5 m/s, minimum aisle width 1,000 mm and 8 to 16 hours of continuous operation on lithium-ion batteries with automatic docking to the nearest charging station. A third-party listing adds dimensions of 1,980 x 800 x 1,740 mm, 550 kg vehicle weight and 300 mm maximum lift height. The vehicle uses a three-wheel geometry, 28 cm drive wheels for crossing expansion joints and floor sills, and AI-based fork detection that recognises and drives around forklift tines.
Navigation does not rely on onboard sensing alone. AI recognition units mounted on the ceiling track vehicles, obstacles and target-location availability in real time and build a digital twin of the shop floor, which the robots use to localise and which the W2MO fleet manager, from partner Logivations, uses to coordinate AMRs and manually driven trucks. The company states that this lets pallets be picked up anywhere, including in block storage of any depth, without predetermined transfer points or WMS integration.
Published deployments are 24/7 pallet transport at Würth Industrie Service since 2025 and a contract-logistics goods-issue application running since 2022 with more than 350,000 pallets moved. Pixel Robotics won the Munich Startup Award 2022 and has taken a silent participation from BayBG; it also credits the German federal research ministry and the Bavarian economics ministry as funders.
