PASCO Scientific is a science-education technology company headquartered in Roseville, California. Paul Stokstad (1944-2024) started the company as a science-fair project built in his college dorm room, then grew it out of a garage in Lafayette, California, before relocating to Roseville. His first commercial product was the Millikan Oil Drop Apparatus.
PASCO's product range includes wireless sensors for motion, force, temperature, light, voltage and other physical quantities used in physics, chemistry, biology and environmental science labs, and the Smart Cart, a wireless dynamics cart with built-in motion and force sensors for kinematics experiments. Sensor data is captured and analyzed through the Capstone software platform for college and university labs, the cross-platform SPARKvue application for K-12 and mobile use, and ChemVue for chemistry instruction. The STEM Sense Solutions line adds the PASCObot programmable robot along with the Coding with Sensors, Sense and Control, and Build Your Own product families pairing sensors with block-based and text-based programming.
The company also produces curriculum materials, including lab manuals, teacher guides, equipment bundles and the PASCO Academy digital platform. PASCO employs close to 200 people, holds ISO 9001 certification, and supplies lab and classroom equipment to educators in more than 100 countries.
