Milrem Robotics is an Estonian defense-technology company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, founded in 2013. It designs unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and related autonomy software for military and security customers, and maintains additional offices in Finland, Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
The company's THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System) is a tracked, modular UGV measuring 2.47 by 2.04 by 1.17 meters, weighing 1,630 kilograms in standard configuration, carrying payloads up to 1,200 kilograms, and reaching 20 km/h. It runs on hybrid diesel-electric or electric propulsion, giving about 1.5 hours of runtime on electric power alone or up to 15 hours in hybrid mode, with a control range of 1.5 kilometers line-of-sight. The chassis can be reconfigured for transport and logistics, combat missions with mounted weapon stations, explosive-ordnance-disposal work, or intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance duties, using lidar and cameras for autonomous driving functions. Milrem also develops the Type-X robotic combat vehicle and the ARCOS autonomy software suite, and leads European Defence Fund research consortia including iMUGS.
THeMIS has been supplied to 20 countries, including eight NATO members: Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
