Company Overview

MiFood (MiFood Robot) is a Spain-based company that builds robots for farms and restaurants, with offices in Spain and Poland. Its CEO is Ruben Miranda.

The company's agricultural product is a fruit-picking robot shown on its website harvesting strawberries. As described in 2022, the robot uses one robotic arm with a gripper and a 3D vision module that identifies each fruit, with a vision range of 3 to 6 metres and gripper precision of about 0.02 mm. It is waterproof for open-field or indoor use, can operate day and night with an optional low-energy lighting system, and runs up to 12 hours on a battery charge. Target crops named by the company include strawberries, grapes, apples and oranges, with greenhouse strawberry growers the main area of interest. MiFood claims its robots reduce crop losses by 30% and labour costs by 50%, and its CEO has said an average Western European farm recovers the cost of a robot in about 18 months.

A separate restaurant section of the website presents kitchen and service robots, with demonstrations of a robot preparing burgers and serving beer, and robot-made menus such as Robo-Burger. The company has received support from European Union programmes.
