Its LVS (Label Vision Systems) product line provides handheld and inline barcode verifiers testing label readability against ISO 15415, ISO 15416, GS1, and MIL-STD-130N standards.
In August 2017, OMRON Corporation announced its acquisition of Microscan from Spectris plc, completing October 2, 2017 for $157 million. Post-acquisition, the company was renamed OMRON Microscan Systems, Inc. and its product lines integrated into OMRON's Industrial Automation division. At acquisition, Microscan employed approximately 260 people globally.
