Company Overview

MAXAGV AB is a Swedish designer and manufacturer of automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots, based at Kryptongatan 5B in Molndal, in the Gothenburg area. The company traces its engineering lineage to AGV work at Volvo's Kalmar plant in the 1970s and cites more than 35 years of its own operating experience. In September 2022 it was acquired by Latour Industries, a business area of the Swedish listed investment company Investment AB Latour; MAXAGV continues to operate under its own name, website and product brands.

The vehicle catalogue splits into two platform families. CX carriers move loads on a deck or shuttle: CX12 for compact low-passage work, CX10 twin tote carrier, CX15 industrial pallet carrier, CX30 multi-load carrier, CX35 shuttle carrier and CX100 maxi carrier. FX fork trucks handle pallets directly: FX08 and FX10 compact lifters, FX15 multi-purpose lifter, FX20 compact counterbalance, FX30 straddle lifter, FX32R compact reach, FX32V very narrow aisle and FX40 side loader. Alongside these the company offers warehouse and distribution AGVs, custom designs for heavy loads, and renovation and retrofit of existing fleets.

Control is handled by the MAX software platform and the Sonix AGV controller, with real-time pallet and product tracking and load-handling accuracy quoted in millimetres for 24/7 operation. The SoftVision product line adds machine-vision functions including Locate, PalletMeasure, Profile, Surface, Wood and Braille, supported by DeZone, PalletLocator and SoftVision ZoneControl accessories.

MAXAGV reports installations in more than 25 countries. Published customer stories cover Emballator in plastic cap production, Sandvik's Gimo smart factory and the pipe manufacturer Wavin.
