Hyderabad drone maker founded in 2019 with 1,800+ drones deployed in India, selling DGCA type-certified AG365 spraying drones in its Kisan Drones range.
Marut Drones (Marut Dronetech) is an Indian drone manufacturer headquartered in Madhapur, Hyderabad, focused mainly on agriculture, with drones for spraying, seeding, logistics, surveillance and public health. It was founded in 2019 by IIT alumni Prem Kumar Vislawath (co-founder and CEO), Suraj Peddi and Sai Kumar Chinthala, and describes itself as India's first multi-utility drone manufacturer.
Its agricultural range is sold as Kisan Drones. The AG 365 family is listed in 16-litre hybrid/petrol, 30-litre and 50-litre variants, and the AG365H, launched in October 2024, is a DGCA type-certified medium-category agricultural drone for pesticide spraying, fertiliser granule broadcasting, fish feeding and operator training. Other products include a logistics drone (with a planned 100 kg payload version), the Aquacopter delivery drone with 70 kg payload, Seedcopter for precision aerial afforestation, Cleancopter for high-pressure cleaning, a surveillance drone, a training drone, custom drones, and Marut ZAP, an integrated drone and IoT platform for vector control. The company states it has five DGCA-certified drone platforms, more than eight patents granted, over 50 filed and more than five trademarks.
Marut reports more than 1,800 drones deployed across India and operates a dealer network, a drone academy for pilot training and guidance on government subsidy schemes for farmers. In November 2024 it raised USD 6.2 million in a Series A round from Lok Capital; at that time it reported more than 200 employees, over 1,000 trained drone pilots, operations in 14 states and a manufacturing target of 3,000 drones per year, with plans for drone-as-a-service hubs and 17 new academies. Awards include the FICCI Award for Sustainable Agriculture 2022 and recognition as a TiE Global TGS100 top emerging startup.
