magAssist Co., Ltd. (formerly Suzhou Xinqing Medical Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese medical device company headquartered in Suzhou New District, Jiangsu Province, China. The company was founded in May 2017 by Dr. Po-Lin Hsu, who holds two doctoral degrees — in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University (UK) and in Medical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University (Germany). Dr. Hsu is a board member of the International Society for Mechanical Circulatory Support (ISMCS) and received the 2014 NOSE International Fellowship Award from the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO). magAssist focuses on developing platform-based solutions for external life support systems, with a starting point in fully magnetically levitated extracorporeal ventricular assist devices (VADs).
Its primary product lines include: MoyoAssist Extra-VAD — an extracorporeal ventricular assist device using full maglev technology that received China NMPA regulatory approval in April 2024 and was recognized among the 2025 Suzhou Top Ten Industrial Scientific and Technological Achievements; NyokAssist Percutaneous VAD — which received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in August 2023; BreathMo ECMO — an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system that completed clinical trials in February 2024; and DonorLife Organ Care System for donor organ preservation. The company's proprietary full magnetic levitation rotor technology eliminates mechanical bearing contact with blood, reducing hemolysis and improving biocompatibility compared to prior-generation pump designs. magAssist has applied for over 300 patents, of which more than 60% are invention patents including international PCT patents.
