The Robotics Laboratory at Universite Laval is an academic research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, in Quebec City, Canada. Professor Clement Gosselin founded the laboratory in 1989, and it operates within the public university as part of its mechanical engineering research programs.
The laboratory's research covers parallel mechanisms, cable-driven parallel robots, articulated robotic hands and grippers, and human-robot collaboration, extending into haptic devices, mobile robots, and rehabilitation and biomedical engineering applications. Four professors lead the group: Gosselin, Philippe Cardou (joined 2007), Alexandre Campeau-Lecours (2015), and Patrice Lambert (2022), whose combined work spans mechanism design, control, and assistive robotics for industrial and clinical use.
Gosselin held the Canada Research Chair in Robotics and Mechatronics from 2001 to 2021, and the lab's work is funded by Canada's Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Fonds de recherche du Quebec - Nature et technologies.
