"Automate. Spend Less. Produce More."
Oshawa, Ontario maker of the RoamIO family of electric autonomous field robots for seeding, weeding and mowing, plus Pik'r golf-range robots.
Korechi Innovations Inc. is a Canadian designer and manufacturer of autonomous electric robots for agriculture and the golf industry. The company was founded in 2016 in Hamilton, Ontario, by CEO Sougata Pahari and moved to Oshawa, Ontario in 2018. Before focusing on agriculture it developed a robot for measuring pond-ice thickness and line-painting robots for athletic fields. Its first farming robot, the RoamIO-mini, was introduced in 2017, and the company says it serves farms in Canada and the United States.
The RoamIO product line consists of the RoamIO-mini, the RoamIO-HCW and the tracked RoamIO-HCT. According to the official specification, the RoamIO-HCW weighs 590 kg (1,300 lb), has 0.81 m of ground clearance and an adjustable track width of 1.2 m to 1.91 m in 5 cm steps. It runs on a 20 kWh lithium battery with 10 kW continuous (16.6 kW peak) brushless DC motors, reaches 6.5 km/h, and navigates with dual-antenna multi-band GNSS RTK for centimetre-level accuracy. Dual AI cameras provide obstacle detection and collision avoidance, backed by physical and remote emergency stops. Optional extra batteries or a gasoline/diesel generator extend range, and 2-inch receivers accept standard horticultural implements. The robots perform seeding, weeding, cultivating, mowing, transporting, soil sampling and data-logging, and are operated from a supplied tablet over local Wi-Fi or a cellular cloud link, with a mission calendar and voice status updates.
For golf courses and driving ranges Korechi offers Pik'r robots, managed through its Korechi Dash web application. The company positions its machines as a way to cut labour and fuel costs on family farms and to reduce chemical use through persistent mechanical weeding. Korechi has been supported by incubators and programmes including Spark Centre, The Forge at McMaster University, Innovation Factory, Bioenterprise and Communitech, and lists the NVIDIA, Google Cloud, IBM and SolidWorks startup programmes. Research collaborations include Niagara College under an NSERC grant and work with Haggerty AgRobotics.
