Dutch AMR builder in The Hague, a Weighpack subsidiary, with three BlueBotics ANT-navigated models (Kompakt, Lyft, Mono) up to 1,500 kg
Karter is a Dutch builder of autonomous mobile robots for intralogistics, based in The Hague. It is a subsidiary of Weighpack, a Dutch manufacturer of customised packing lines, inspection equipment and furnace loading/unloading gear with more than 45 years in business, and the robots are assembled in a factory shared with Weighpack at the De Werf site. The AMR range grew out of material-handling problems Weighpack encountered in its own customers' plants.
The product line was introduced publicly in July 2023 and comprises three models. Karter Kompakt is an automated pallet truck for loads up to 1,500 kg. Karter Lyft is an autonomous low-lift forklift with a 500 mm lift for pallets up to 1,000 kg. Karter Mono is a general-purpose unit for varied loads such as roller cages, boxes and tanks, rated to 1,500 kg. All three are specified to run about eight hours after a ten-minute charge and use safety lasers for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
Navigation is supplied by BlueBotics SA of St-Sulpice, Switzerland. The robots run BlueBotics' ANT natural-feature navigation, which requires no magnetic tape or reflective targets, and the ANT server handles fleet management, including mixed-vendor ANT fleets, with an API for WMS, MES and ERP integration and interfaces to automatic doors and lifts.
Target sectors are logistics and warehousing, food and pharmaceuticals, agriculture and greenhouses, fasteners and small components, and hardware, construction products and industrial components. Karter products are also distributed through Weighpack International.
