Based in Aurora, Colorado, Karcher North America distributes and supports the company's full range of home and garden and professional cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, sweepers and steam cleaners. Within its professional portfolio, Karcher offers a growing line of autonomous cleaning robots branded KIRA (Karcher Intelligent Robotic Applications). KIRA machines use cloud-based AI for route learning and optimisation, an array of cameras and sensors for a smart detection system that avoids people and obstacles, a cloud-connected touchscreen interface for switching between autonomous and manual modes, and real-time smartphone reporting. The first KIRA model, the KIRA B 100 R autonomous scrubber, was launched in the US in April 2022 powered by Brain Corporation's BrainOS software platform for autonomous mobile robots. Karcher emphasises in-house research and development and holds more than 1,300 patents and utility models worldwide. The North American operation offers rental, lease and purchase options for its robotic equipment along with on-site setup, training, software subscriptions and multi-year service plans to support customer adoption of autonomous floor care.
