Kaman Corporation, founded in 1945 by aviation pioneer Charles H. Kaman, is a mission-critical components manufacturer headquartered in Bloomfield, Connecticut. The company operates in aerospace, defense, industrial, and medical markets, supplying proprietary aircraft bearings, self-lubricating bearing systems, spring-energized seals, and complex metallic and composite aerostructures for commercial, military, and general aviation platforms.
Kaman's defense division provides safe and arming solutions for missile and bomb systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. Its autonomous systems portfolio includes the K-MAX heavy-lift manned helicopter and the KARGO UAV, a purpose-built medium-lift expeditionary logistics drone that completed its first full-scale flight in April 2024. Kaman operates across more than 60 countries and was acquired by private equity firm Arcline Investment Management in 2024 for approximately $1.8 billion.
