"We are on a mission to maximize the efficiency of your logistics"
Finnish intralogistics manufacturer (est. 1932) of roll cages, tugger trains and A-MATE AGVs with A-GATE fleet software, selling into 65 countries
K.Hartwall Oy Ab is a Finnish intralogistics equipment manufacturer headquartered in Söderkulla (Sipoo), Finland, where it also operates its factory and innovation centre. The company traces its start to 1932, when Erik Hartwall began producing wiring and clamps for Finland's bottling industry. It moved into shopping trolleys in 1966, became an IKEA supplier in 1982, acquired the tray business of Polimoon and Arca Systems in 2000, launched its Lean Adaptor Pallet and Dolly in 2006, and built out a global delivery network from 2010.
The core catalogue is load carriers and transport equipment: roll cages, foldable cages, dollies and adaptor pallets, plus the Foldia, SmartCube (Jumbo and Light), Compactainer and Security Compactainer container families and the LiftLiner and LiftLiner RC tugger trains.
K.Hartwall entered mobile robotics in 2020 with the A-MATE electric free-lift AGV. The A-MATE line now has three models: A-MATE FreeLift, a slim omnidirectional unit; A-MATE Counter, a bidirectional model with cantilevered forks and a counterweight; and A-MATE Lite, a compact omnidirectional model that received a Red Dot Product Design Award. The robots are managed through A-GATE, a web-based gateway and user interface shipped as a Docker container that connects hardware and software over REST, TCP/IP and MQTT and handles licensing, user roles and connector monitoring.
Customers span retail, parcel and e-commerce (postal services, fulfilment centres, 3PLs) and industrial manufacturing (automotive, manufacturing, recycling). The company reports customers in 65 countries and sales offices in 15, with partnered production units in Central Europe and Asia. Group companies include K.Hartwall GmbH in Germany, K.Hartwall (Suzhou) Trading Co. Ltd in China and Retailquip in Australia; K.Hartwall has been majority shareholder of A&A Logistik Equipment since 2018.
