"Precision Agriculture Specialists for Precision Growing"
Seattle company founded in 2013 whose LUNA AI platform uses track-mounted computer vision to track plant growth and forecast yield in greenhouses.
IUNU is a precision agriculture company founded in Seattle in 2013 that develops LUNA, an AI and computer vision platform for commercial greenhouse growers. LUNA collects plant-level data autonomously so that growers can monitor crop development and make decisions without handling plants. TechCrunch described the LUNA hardware in 2022 as a robot that runs on a track along the greenhouse roof and uses computer vision to check crops.
The LUNA platform is organized by crop: Vines (tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers), Leafy Greens and Ornamentals, with further modules for connecting third-party systems and Mobile Crop Registration. Listed features include steering plant balance, plan-versus-actual tracking, yield and harvest forecasting, labor scheduling, intelligent setpoint control and a unified dashboard. The company also offers GrowerGPT and publishes the CropTalk podcast and industry reports. Partners include NVIDIA, Microsoft, NASA, Intel and Google, and grower customers include Bushel Boy Farms and Pure Green Farms. In 2022 IUNU said it worked with about a quarter of U.S. greenhouse leafy green growers.
In March 2022 IUNU raised a $24 million Series B led by Lewis & Clark Ventures, with returning investors S2G Ventures, Ceres Partners and Astanor Ventures; at that time Adam Greenberg was CEO and the company had 60 employees. The company announced a further $20 million raise in 2025. IUNU's team combines horticultural specialists, AI engineers, data scientists and growers.
