Multidisciplinary robotics research lab at Sorbonne University and CNRS in Paris, focusing on autonomous systems, human-robot interaction, and surgical robots.
ISIR (Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 7222) co-supervised by Sorbonne University, CNRS (via INSIS, INS2I, and INSB institutes), and INSERM. Located at 4 Place Jussieu, Paris, the laboratory brings together researchers from mechanical engineering, automatic control, signal processing, and computer science. ISIR's research is organized around two main axes: machine autonomy, and human-machine interaction.
Active research areas include drones, micro-actuators, bionic prostheses, social robots, surgical robotic arms, and immersive virtual reality systems. The laboratory maintains one of Europe's largest robot parks, with more than 800 m² dedicated to experimental activities. Applications address healthcare, industry of the future, transport, and personal services.
ISIR is affiliated with Sorbonne University's Faculty of Science and Engineering and contributes to national and European research programs in intelligent systems and robotics.
