"Drug Discovery as it will be"
Paris-based Iktos pairs generative AI drug design with Iktos Robotics, an autonomous lab running about 100 robotic reactions per day on Chemspeed hardware.
Iktos is a French small-molecule drug discovery company founded in 2016 in Paris by Yann Gaston-Mathe (CEO), Quentin Perron (CSO) and Nicolas Do Huu (CTO). It combines three software layers with a robotic laboratory. Makya is a generative AI SaaS platform for de novo molecular design with synthetic-accessibility scoring, multi-parameter optimization and 3D constraints; Makya 2.0 adds data analysis and visualization. Spaya is an AI retrosynthesis platform that proposes routes from target compounds to commercially available starting materials and is available through an API. Ilaka is an orchestration AI that manages the workflow from raw-material ordering to synthesis campaigns, prioritizing routes by inventory and reaction conditions to keep robots utilized.
The robotics side, Iktos Robotics, is presented as an autonomous lab that turns AI-designed molecules into physical compounds and test data. Iktos Robotics Chemistry runs automated synthesis and analysis on a Chemspeed platform at roughly 100 reactions per day in parallel, covering more than 55 named reaction types, with purification listed as an ongoing integration. Iktos Robotics Biology performs in-cellulo phenotypic screening on an imaging platform using the company's patented Microtubule Bench (MT bench) technology, with use cases including protein-protein and RNA-protein interactions, protein self-assembly, molecular glues and PROTACs. Robotics was included in the Integrated Drug Discovery platform launched in 2024, and the robotics lab is led by a dedicated Head of Robotics Lab. The company states that the platform supports six times more parallel projects with the same number of chemists and targets optimized candidates in under 24 months.
Iktos reports more than 60 collaborations with pharmaceutical, biotech and academic organizations, with Pierre Fabre and Takeda among the partners shown on its site. Its in-house pipeline covers MTHFD2 (inflammation and autoimmune disease), the amylin receptor (obesity and metabolism) and SKP2-CKS1 (immuno-oncology). In 2023 it closed a EUR 15.5M Series A co-led by M Ventures and Debiopharm, and in 2025 it received a EUR 2.5M European Innovation Council Accelerator grant with an option for a further EUR 5M investment. Besides the Paris headquarters it operates a Japanese entity, Iktos K.K., and has a head of US operations; in 2026 it was selected for a JETRO program supporting AI drug discovery expansion in Japan.
