Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH (HBM), founded in 1950 by Karl Hottinger and headquartered at Im Tiefen See 45, 64293 Darmstadt, Germany, is a technology and market leader in precision test and measurement instrumentation. HBM's product range covers the complete measurement chain: strain gauges, force and load cells (including the U2B and U9C series), torque transducers, pressure sensors, displacement sensors, data acquisition systems (QuantumX modular platform), and analysis software. The QuantumX MX1615B strain gauge amplifier provides 16-channel data acquisition at up to 20 kS/s per channel.
Applications include structural durability testing, manufacturing quality control, fatigue analysis, calibration services, and process monitoring. On September 1, 2020, HBM merged with Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration to form HBK (Hottinger Brüel & Kjær), operating under parent company Spectris plc.
