Harbinger Motors, Inc. is a United States commercial-electric-vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Garden Grove, California. Founded in July 2021 by John Harris (CEO), Phillip Weicker (CTO) and Will Eberts (COO), the company designs and builds chassis for medium-duty electric and hybrid commercial vehicles, including walk-in vans, delivery trucks, work trucks, motorhomes and specialty vocational vehicles. Harbinger's strategy is vertical integration: it develops its own EV powertrain in-house, including a 14-pole, oil-cooled drive unit rated at 330 kW with 18,100 N·m of output torque and a 450,000-mile design life, paired with a scalable liquid-cooled battery built in 35 kWh increments up to an 800 VDC system. The chassis uses forged-steel suspension and frame with an independent front suspension that reduces front overhang, plus steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems enabling flexible driver positioning and a low floor height for easier loading. Configurations span Class 4 (16,000 lb GVWR), Class 5 (19,500 lb) and Class 6 (26,000 lb), with battery options of 105, 140 and 175 kWh delivering roughly 125, 165 and 205 miles of range, and a range-extended electric (EREV) hybrid variant for longer duty cycles.
The company has raised over $200 million across angel, Series A and a Series B round announced in January 2025, and in 2025 launched serial production of its American-made platform. Harbinger also offers the HC Series low-cab-forward cab for all-electric and hybrid medium-duty work trucks.
